Fine Rice Vermicelli With Vegan Grilled Pork Sausage and Vegan Roasted Pork Belly (Banh Hoi Nem Nuong Chay)

Enjoy this delicious vegan version of “Banh Hoi Nem Nuong”!  SIMPLY FOOD Fine Rice Vermicelli is easy to prepare and its light, fluffy, mild taste pairs perfectly with the sweet, smoky, and savory flavors of the Vegan Grilled Pork Sausage and Vegan Roasted Pork Belly.

Ingredients

Cook Time: 45 Minutes


Fine Rice Vermicelli

2 Oz of SIMPLY FOOD Fine Rice Vermicelli


Vegan Vietnamese Grilled Pork Sausage

8 Oz of Vegan Pork Paste

1 Oz of Vegan Meat

2 Oz of Jicama

1 Tbsp of Vegan Char Siu Sauce

1 Tbsp of Annatto Oil

1 pinch of Salt

1 Tbsp of Vegetable Bouillon Powder

1 Tbsp of Sugar

1 pack of bamboo skewers


Optional Side Dishes

1 Oz of Vegan Pork Belly Meat

Suitable amount of Green Onions

Suitable amount of Herbs/Salad

Suitable amount of Pineapple

Suitable amount of Pickled Carrot and Daikon

Suitable amount of Vegan Dipping Sauce

Instructions

Fine Rice Vermicelli

Step 1

Soak the rice vermicelli in warm water for about 2 minutes and steam for 4-5 minutes OR place rice vermicelli in boiling water for 4-5 minutes and let dry.


Step 2

Saute Green Onions in oil and place a suitable amount on top of rice vermicelli on each plate or bowl.


Note: If you use the steam method, place an even layer of cooking oil in the steamer so the rice vermicelli noodles will not stick.


Vegan Vietnamese Grilled Pork Sausage


Step 1

Julienne jicama, vegan meat, green onion and carrot.

Step 2 

In a separate bowl, mix vegan pork paste, vegan meat, jicama, vegetable bouillon powder, salt, sugar, vegan char siu and annatto oil until well combined.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into small portions that are around 1 Oz each.

Step 4

Press the meat mixture tightly together so that it covers the bamboo skewer completely and forms a log.

Step 5

In a pan, add annatto oil and sear the meat skewer over low heat until it is thoroughly cooked.


Optional Side Dishes


Step 1

Slice the vegan roasted pork belly into slices and stir-fry until it is golden brown.  

Step 2

Slice fresh pineapple into small pieces. Wash and dry herbs and salad. 


Place preferred assortment on top of rice vermicelli and dip in sauce to create the perfect bite!
